Reflective Floor Tutorial By TaZMaN

This tutorial accompanies my prefab.  I am going to show you just how easy it is to make a reflective floor effect in your very own maps!  First you need to make a room with no floor,  put some crap (like vending machines and desks and chairs) so you get the real feel of the effect in you map.  Add a light entity.  Select every thing you have just made and while holding the SHIFT key drag the whole room down and flip it.  Make sure the both rooms join with no gaps.  then add a floor, make it as thin as possible (so it's flat) and position that in between the two rooms.

You should now have something that looks like this:

Now just select your floor (make sure it turns red) and press CTRL+T (to tie it to an entity).  Select func_wall.

Set the func_wall properties like this:

Render Mode: texture
FX Amount: 100-200 (just test different numbers, to find the one that suites you best)
FX Color: 0 0 255

And that's it!  Add a info_player_start to the 1st room (the one that is the right way up) and hit F9.  Then marvel at your creation.

The finished product:

Hope I have helped you in some way.  If you use this technique in a map please send me the BSP (I just want to see how it looks in other maps).  I am using this to make the "Matrix Hallway" scene from the movie.
