Doom I, Episode I, Mission I. The very birthplace of deathmatch.
IMHO, this was one of the better levels to deathmatch in. The simple
layout and mainly low-powered weapons made for some intense battles.

This map is based on the "new" version of E1M1 which I believe shipped with
Doom v1.666 and up. So it has the secret door to the courtyard for enhanced
connectivity. This map is almost an exact copy of the original, but with some
architectural enhancements (Don't worry, no floor over floor or anything-god
forbid :D ). Item placement, however, has been changed to support Half-Life's
greater selection of weapons. Similarly to the original, there are no alien or
energy weapons.

Generally, r_speeds stay below 800. But, if you stand in the spot that is
marked with a red X on the picture, r_speeds can inexplicably shoot up to
over 950 :(. It only happens right on that spot, and fixing it would require
a major change to the level. So I released it as is. I would recommend
caution if you have an older computer.
